Many students of CIS volunteered at Diversity Park on the weekend of September 30/October 1st. The event, held in Shinjuku’s Chuo park, is held annually to celebrate a love of athletics shared by people of all abilities and backgrounds. Student volunteers from CIS helped out at a variety of events, from sporting events like chair-skiing and wheelchair tennis to sensory events such as the virtual reality (VR) and aroma activity booths. Students spent the day assisting with these events, helping all park visitors experience each activity equally, regardless of their individual abilities. CIS students worked hard to make sure that Diversity Park was a success, and most importantly, they ensured that every attendee had lots of fun! (Ms. Livingston)
