Curriculum
We offer the Ontario(Canada) curriculum and all courses are taught in English by certified teachers. Japanese(Kokugo) lessons are offered everyday up to Grade 8.

Saturday School
Saturday School program helps those prospective students to get to know about Columbia International School. The program is taught in English with Japanese supports. If anyone wants to know about Columbia before applying to the regular program, Saturday School program is the one for you.

Summer School
Summer School program helps those prospective students to get to know about Columbia International School. The program is taught in English with Japanese assistants. Columba’s high school students and the alumni help students to have fun in the summer program.

Open Campuses are available for the specific age groups, New Gr 1, Gr 7, Gr 10 students in the next academic year. Other students and parents may visit us on the individual school tour days.

Application for the Spring 2024(Grade 1)
All applications delivered to CIS after August 1, 2023 will be processed in the application 2nd round(Oct 1 ~ Oct 31). Applicants will be informed of results by emails on Nov 17 Friday after CIS finished all admissions interviews. Except successful applicants, others will receive a conditional letter of acceptance and an invoice. If successful applicants do not complete the payment on Nov 27 Monday, the seats will be given to the applicants on the waiting list.
Conditional Acceptance
Anyone receives a conditional acceptance letter, they may be registered on the waiting list by completing the payment of the entrance fee. The eligibility will be for 3 terms(1 academic year). In case a vacancy does not happen during the period, the applicant may be registered in the waiting list again by completing the payment of the entrance fee.

- On receipt of the application form, the school will process it immediately and arrange a date for an Admission Examination and interview(s) with the applicant and parent(s).

- After the examination, the applicant will be notified by mail of his/her admission status.

- If the applicant accepts the offer from Columbia International School, the correct amount of fees must be paid within one week by bank transfer to one of the following accounts.
- 5.Grade Eligibility Chart for 2024-2025 academic year
- The cut-off for enrollment age at Columbia International School is April 1. By this date, all applicants must be the required age as indicated in the chart below to apply. Please check the chart to determine the grade for which your child is eligible to apply. Students entering C.I.S. will be placed based on age and an assessment of previous learning credits or equivalent credits in accordance with Ontario Secondary School Graduation requirements.
