Last term, the Grade 11s explored new techniques and deepened their creative skills. Students practiced pastel and watercolour techniques, learning how to layer and blend colours to create different effects. They also studied the work of Impressionist painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir and advanced colour theory, gaining insight into how artists create neutralised backgrounds. To put their learning into practice, the students arranged fruit on a plate and designed their own still-life compositions. The results were impressive – they did a great job and really showed off their art skills! (Ms. Hill)
