It was a warm, sunny day when all the kinder and elementary students and staff came together for the yearly Columbia Cares neighbourhood clean-up. Students first gathered on the field to get into their Sports Day teams (Red Rhinos, Blue Bulldogs, Yellow Jackets, and Green Gators). Each team was then sent to a different section of the local community. Armed with gloves, trash bags, and determination, they enthusiastically collected litter and recyclables. Then they helped sort it into burnables, non-burnables, and glass/aluminium. This activity helped students learn about environmental responsibility, teamwork, and the impact small actions can have on their surroundings. By the end of the day, the area looked spotless, and everyone felt a sense of pride and accomplishment. Remember that even the smallest acts can leave the biggest footprints!(Ms.Amanda)
