On Sunday October 6th, kinder and elementary students at Columbia International School participated in various Sports Day events. The four teams who competed to see which team would come out on top were the Blue Bulldogs, the Green Gators, the Red Rhinos, and the Yellow Jackets. All four teams got off to a roaring start with their motivational cheers. GO TEAM! Teams then participated in the hurricane pole, ball sweep, and individual races. The ball sweep was especially memorable since students partnered up with a family member! After a satisfying lunch break, teams then tackled the afternoon events – sponge race, balls-in-the-basket, tug-of-war, and the relay race. Finally it was time for the awards ceremony. The Yellow Jackets received the Perseverance Award, the Blue Bulldogs received the Sportsmanship Award, the Red Rhinos received the Team Spirit Award, and the Green Gators received the Athletics Award. A special thanks to all the teachers and staff who made this event such a success and the PTSA for the delicious apple jelly juice! See you next year Spirit Bears!(Ms.Amanda)
