Discovering Ainu Heritage With Grade 3

Last December 17, 2025, our Grade 3 Japanese and international students took part in a meaningful and enjoyable learning experience at the Ainu Cultural Exchange Centre. The students were excited to learn about Ainu culture, traditions, and daily life through engaging stories and hands on activities. As they explored the history of the Ainu people, students gained a deeper appreciation of this important part of Japan’s cultural heritage while learning together in a shared environment. One of the highlights was the opportunity to wear traditional Ainu clothing, play with cultural toys, and try traditional musical instruments as a group. The experience extended beyond the centre as students bonded while riding the train and later enjoyed time playing together at the park. It was a joyful and enriching day that strengthened friendships, encouraged cultural understanding, and created lasting memories for both students and teachers. (Ms. Galang)
