Hokkaido Volleyball Trip

At the end of February, our volleyball teams traveled to Sapporo for the inaugural Snow Spike tournament at Hokkaido International School (H.I.S)—their first competition outside the Kanto region.
The Senior Teams flew to Sapporo and took a scenic train ride through the snow before settling into classroom accommodations. That evening, they were warmly welcomed at the gym by H.I.S staff and students and bonded through pickup games and practices.
The tournament began the next day with strong performances: the boys’ team finished second in the round-robin, and the girls placed third. That night, a delicious PTA-hosted curry dinner brought all teams together for more fun and connection.
On the final day, the girls narrowly missed the finals, while the boys advanced to the championship and played their best match of the season, finishing second. Both teams enthusiastically supported the H.I.S girls in their final.
After the awards ceremony, students explored Sapporo and celebrated a trip well-earned before flying back to Haneda on Monday.
This unforgettable experience fostered team spirit, new friendships, and great volleyball. Huge thanks to the parents, school, PTSA, and especially Ms. Miura and Ms. Okamoto for their incredible support. (Mr. Fleming)
