On May 8th, 2023, the school hosted a presentation by two renowned dental professionals, Dr. Iguchi and Dr. Nakahama, arranged by the PTSA. Both doctors shared valuable insights on dental care, dental injuries, orthodontic work, and the qualifications required for orthodontic treatment. Dr. Iguchi discussed tooth care and dental injuries, emphasizing the importance of proper dental care, such as brushing and flossing regularly and visiting the dentist for routine check-ups. He explained that neglecting dental care could lead to various dental issues, including gum disease, cavities, and tooth decay, which can be costly to repair and cause discomfort. Dr. Nakahama emphasized that students with opposing bites require orthodontic treatment, as they may experience discomfort, difficulty biting, and cause teeth to develop further problems. He explained that orthodontic treatment can be either aesthetic or functional, and that different procedures can be used to address various dental issues, such as overcrowding, gaps between teeth, and misaligned bites.
The PTSA is thanked for arranging such an insightful event, and the school looks forward
