Fall term has started!
Let’s have a great term all together!
Welcome back to school! Fall term has started! New students are welcomed in and are adjusting quickly. All junior and senior students gathered for the first assembly of the term on Friday to finish off the first week. We’re excited for many upcoming events of the season!
We picked up garbage in the Higashi-Tokorozawa Park area. The upper graders along with the kindergarteners did a great job in picking up a lot of garbage. Being good citizens is one of our 6 pillars.
The kindergarteners, grades 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and some of the ukulele players from grade 6 gave us a great performance today. With Mr. Christie conducting, everyone was simply awesome!!
Canada Day and Dance Performance
June 28thwas not only the last day of the term, but it was also Canada Day. Students had a lot of fun in the field and we were treated to a fantastic dance performance.
Let’s all have a wonderful summer vacation!!
Our Summer Party was held on June 9th.
We had lots of fun!
Great food, drinks, and performances!
Congratulations to all the lottery winners! They got a nice gift!
Thank you very much for all the support from the PTSA!
On Wednesday, all the Jr. and Sr. students gathered in the gym for the student council speech. Four candidates made their speeches for the new president (and vice president) position. Now the school is filled with their posters!
G8 went on a field trip to the National Museum of Nature and Science in Ueno.
They enjoyed watching “The Body – Challenging the Mystery” and the other exhibits.
The research task they were given was hard for them, but they tried hard in their group.
It was not enough time to watch and study all.
Most students said, “I wanna stay here longer!”, “I’ll come and visit again”
The Columbia elementary soccer club travelled to the British School in Tokyo for the first tournament (of the school year) and followed that up with another tournament the next week at the American School Japan. Columbia played with amazing spirit and our new Grade 3 and 4 members gave a great effort against some very good teams. Without the soccer stars from last year’s team, the grade 5s and 6s were competitive in every match for a great start to the soccer season. The team has a great attitude, strong captains, and all were well behaved when travelling, too. Well Done Spirit Bears!
Go Spirit Bears!!
