We closed out the term with 2 special days

Columbia Cares

We picked up garbage in the Higashi-Tokorozawa Park area. The upper graders along with the kindergarteners did a great job in picking up a lot of garbage. Being good citizens is one of our 6 pillars.

Music performances

The kindergarteners, grades 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and some of the ukulele players from grade 6 gave us a great performance today. With Mr. Christie conducting, everyone was simply awesome!!

Canada Day and Dance Performance

June 28thwas not only the last day of the term, but it was also Canada Day. Students had a lot of fun in the field and we were treated to a fantastic dance performance.

Let’s all have a wonderful summer vacation!!

EPAC 2018

Once again our kindergarten students were hard at work preparing and taking part in the annual EPAC show.  Our students performed the famous story “Green Eggs and Ham,” written by Dr. Seuss.

All of the schools stepped up their game this year, but in the end, Yomei Nursery School came in 1st place for the trophy.

Columbia won the award for Worlds Best Teamwork.  GREAT WORK PANDAS!

G8 Field Trip to Ueno

G8 went on a field trip to the National Museum of Nature and Science in Ueno.
They enjoyed watching “The Body – Challenging the Mystery” and the other exhibits.
The research task they were given was hard for them, but they tried hard in their group.
It was not enough time to watch and study all.
Most students said, “I wanna stay here longer!”, “I’ll come and visit again”

Soccer Game CIS vs. ASIJ

The Columbia elementary soccer club travelled to the British School in Tokyo for the first tournament (of the school year) and followed that up with another tournament the next week at the American School Japan. Columbia played with amazing spirit and our new Grade 3 and 4 members gave a great effort against some very good teams.  Without the soccer stars from last year’s team, the grade 5s and 6s were competitive in every match for a great start to the soccer season. The team has a great attitude, strong captains, and all were well behaved when travelling, too.  Well Done Spirit Bears!

先日、サッカークラブはブリティッシュ・スクールとの試合があり、先週はアメリカン・スクール・イン・ジャパンとの試合に臨みました。コロンビアチームは3年生、4年生の新メンバーとともに健闘をみせました。

Go Spirit Bears!!
